Ulster Hockey would like to extend a thank you to all the schools who participated in our competitions this year as well as further congratulate those who were successful in winning silverware.
A particular thank you goes to the four newly affiliated schools for the 2022-23 season: Belfast Boys Model, Belfast Royal Academy(Boys), Killicomaine Junior High School (Boys) and Newry High School (Boys and Girls). Their affiliation brings the new total of affiliated schools to 71 (22 male and 49 female).
This year saw another successful season of school hockey with 26 competitions running across both girls’ and boys’ sections.
Amongst the boys’ competitions we saw six different competition winners with Banbridge Academy and Royal Belfast Academical Institution both winning three trophies each. Furthermore, Wallace High School, Sullivan Upper School, Portadown College and Cookstown High School were also crowned Champions of various tournaments.
Of the 15 girls’ competitions there were 11 different winners with Royal School Armagh, Portadown College, Larne Grammar and Friends’ School Lisburn all celebrating doubles. Meanwhile Rainey Endowed, Wallace High School, Belfast Royal Academy, Ballymena Academy, Banbridge High School and Dromore High School all celebrated cup success.
