Kilkeel Hockey Club is currently seeking either an experienced or aspiring coach for the Ladies 1XI squad for the upcoming season.
The 1XI are due to begin life in Senior 3 and are looking for an ambitious coach to help take training on Monday & Wednesday Evenings alongside matches on a Saturday afternoon.
This is an exciting time for the Ladies section of the club with the junior club producing young players every year to add to the experienced members already in the squad as they aspire for promotion back to Senior 2.
The ideal candidate must the following:
Ambition to want to better themselves as well as develop the stream of junior players coming into the senior setup.
Ability to plan and implement training sessions and individual programmes for high potential junior players
Be a good communicator with players of all experience level.
Experience of coaching teams at the same level or higher.

Ballymena Academy – Hockey Coach (1st XI and 2nd XI)
Ballymena Academy, established in 1828, is a successful and forward-looking, co-educational, non-denominational Voluntary Grammar School with an enrolment of 1200 pupils.
The school is seeking to appoint an individual who will have the expertise and enthusiasm to enable hockey players to realise their highest potential. The successful candidate will have responsibility, as Head Coach of the 1st XI and 2nd XI, under the direction of the school Principal and Teacher i/c Hockey. Preference may be given to applicants with previous experience of working with young people.
The person appointed to this post must demonstrate by means of their application form, how they meet the following criteria. These criteria may be further enhanced for shortlisting purposes.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of Ulster Hockey/Hockey Ireland Level 1 Coaching qualification or equivalent.

🔴COACHING OPPORTUNITY⚫️
We are looking for an experienced coach for our 3rd XI team for next season 2023/24.
Our 3rd XI had a successful season this year (22/23) being promoted to junior 6 and reaching the final of the minor plate.
SALHC is an ambitious club which was formed in 2011 and is based in Lisburn City Centre at Friends’ School Lisburn.
We as a club are committed to the development of players and enjoyment of hockey for all.
We currently have six senior ladies teams, a vets team and an ever growing junior club.

Pegasus Coaching vacancies
Pegasus Ladies Hockey Club is currently seeking coaches for the 2nd XI, 4th XI and 5th XI. for the incoming season 2023-24 and beyond. Click here for further info.
The 2nd XI coach will work alongside the Head Coach of the 1st XI squad to ensure player progression and the delivery of high-quality training sessions (Monday). They will also take responsibility for the 2nds as they compete in Junior 1, the McConnell Shield, and the Irish Junior Cup for a second night at weekly training (Wednesday 8-9.30pm) and on a Saturday.
The successful applicant must hold a minimum of a Level 2 IHA coaching qualification. They should also aspire to develop themselves further tactically and in providing appropriate fitness schedules. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Remuneration is available.
The 4s and 5s
The 4th and 5th XI squads total approximately 40 girls. Both train at Newforge, Upper Malone on a Wednesday evening 6.30-8pm. The ability range spans Junior 6 to Junior 9 leagues and all the girls, most of whom have graduated from junior club in the past couple of years, are committed to developing their skills and having fun.
It is preferable that the successful applicant has gained their Level 1 coaching qualification, but we would also welcome someone who is keen to coach at this age/stage with a view to completing their qualification this season.
It is also preferable that you are available to accompany the team to Saturday matches. Remuneration is available.
Sessions are led by one of the senior club coaches so the opportunity for mentoring is a bonus in this role.

Pegasus Junior Coaching vacancies
Pegasus Ladies Hockey Club is currently seeking a coach who will support and overview the sessions of the U15 Performance and two Development squad coaches in the Junior Club for the incoming season 2023-24.
This group of 48 girls’ trains at Newforge, Upper Malone, on a Friday evening 7.15-8.45pm. The players are committed and willing participants who aspire to follow the club’s player pathway into the senior club.
The successful applicant will hold at least a Level 1 coaching qualification. Strong communication skills are imperative, as is a well organised and flexible approach. A proven track record of player development is important. It would be preferable that the successful applicant has some experience of U15 performance hockey although that is not a pre-requisite. Attendance at the U15 matches would be expected. Remuneration is available.
There is opportunity for a developing coach to gain experience with the U15 Development teams.

CARRICKFERGUS GRAMMAR SCHOOL
POST TITLE: Part-time Temporary Hockey Coach
LOCATION: Carrickfergus Grammar School
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Girls PE
JOB PURPOSE: This post is to support the coaching of hockey after school and on Saturday mornings throughout the hockey season. To be paid hourly in line with the Education Authority pay scale.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:
- To provide coaching and training to particular year groups during games sessions and/or after school.
- To supervise the practice sessions from commencement until all students depart.
- To umpire matches as required during the week and on Saturdays.
- Days and times are negotiable.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Level 1 Hockey Coaching qualification
- Good communication skills
- The ability to maintain positive working relationships with, students, staff, parents and external agencies.

COACHING VACANCIES AT CASTLE!
Castle Hockey Club, centrally based in Carrickfergus, currently fields three senior teams in the UH Women’s Hockey Leagues both in Senior and Junior League. We also incorporate a thriving and vibrant Junior Club structure.
We are now looking to increase our senior coaching team to provide additional support to our growing player base. So we are interested in hearing from enthusiastic individuals who currently hold a UH Level 2 coaching qualification or alternatively anyone with a Level 1 qualification willing to progress to Level 2. Interested parties should have prior coaching experience and be available to coach on weeknight training (currently Monday and Wednesday) plus match days (usually Saturday).
Youth development is particularly important to us and with an exciting group of last season’s Castle U15 squads about to step up to senior club, we will be looking for your assistance to help integrate them smoothly and effectively into our playing squads and deliver a competitive balance of youth and experience across all three squads.
Both our training and match play facilities utilise the splendid new Olympic and International standard hockey pitch based in the grounds of Carrickfergus Grammar School. Our equally impressive club house facilities are based in Carrickfergus Rugby Club.
