HOCKEY IS BACK – STAY SAFE

Monday 12th April will see a welcome return to hockey training across Northern Ireland.

It is great that our clubs will be able to get back on the pitch but we must remember to continue to stay safe and comply with the Hockey Ireland return to hockey protocols and NI Executive restrictions.

  • Only groups of 15 adults permitted on the pitch (including coaches);
  • For 13-18 year olds – 2 groups of 15 are permitted but with no movement between groups;
  • For under 13 groups, up to 3 groups of 15 are allowed, again with no movement between groups.

We are hopeful that this stage of the return to sport pathway is short-term, however continued relaxation of the restrictions will only be likely if we continue to adhere to the restrictions as set out.  Therefore it is imperative to note that car sharing is not permitted, gatherings around the pitch or in car parks are to be avoided and contact tracing measures, risk assessments etc must continue and a COVID officer must be present at all sessions.

To celebrate the return to hockey we are encouraging our clubs to share images on their social media platforms of our members back enjoying the sport. Please make sure to tag Ulster Hockey so we can share, engage and celebrate the safe return to hockey.

In the meantime, enjoy the return to hockey with the current limitations, stay safe and hopefully we can return to some competitive opportunities in the coming weeks.
