JAMES WRAY

It is with great sadness that Ulster Hockey has been made aware of the passing of our current Vice President James Wray following a period of illness.  James was Vice President of Ulster Hockey and due to take up the role of President at the AGM in May.

James was a popular figure and a stalwart of Ulster Hockey. He started his career playing at Campbell College before moving on to Raphoe Hockey Club. He then took up the whistle, umpiring at a high level in both Ulster and Ireland, and umpired in the last completed Girls Senior Schools final in March 2020.

James was a gentleman and could always be relied upon to assist Ulster Hockey wherever possible.

He loved hockey, playing golf and supporting Leeds United.

Thoughts and prayers of everyone at Ulster Hockey go to his wife Dawn, daughters Victoria and Erin, granddaughter Anna, sisters Judith and Alison and his wider circle of family and friends at Raphoe Hockey Club and beyond.

To many in the Ulster Hockey family he was a great friend and colleague both on and off the pitch and James will be sadly missed.
