LWM Prem: Wins for Mossley, Harlequins and Portadown

Mossley continued their fine form in the Legacy Wealth Management Premier League, as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Banbridge.

Anna Glassey scored her third goal of the season to open the scoring at Havelock Park and give her side the lead before two more goals in the final quarter from Becca Anderson and Grace McDowell wrapped up the 3-0 win.

The visitors have now won three of their last four outings in the division but still remain in sixth place seemingly out of the EYHL2 race whilst Banbridge remain at the foot of the table with just one point.

Elsewhere Belfast Harlequins sealed a 2-0 win over Armagh at Deramore Park.

Two goals from Megan Getty sealed the win and marked a third league win in a row for the club, leaving them third in the division with three games remaining.

Meanwhile, Armagh remain eighth in the division after a fourth consecutive defeat in league action.

The final game on Saturday saw Omagh and Ballymoney share the spoils as they played out a 0-0 draw.

The result sees Ballymoney move level on points with Armagh as they remain ninth in the division by a marginal goal difference.

In contrast, the point for Omagh all but confirms their status in the division for next season as they stay five points clear of the relegation playoff spot with a game in hand over Saturday’s opponents.

On Friday night, Portadown capitalised on Queen’s University being out of league action, beating Lisnagarvey 2-1 at Edenvilla.

Despite early pressure from the title challengers, the score remained 0-0 until the third quarter of the tie when Emily Adamson fired past Anna Wilson to net her 11th league goal of the season.

In the final period Lara Wilson won her side a penalty corner before being on hand to finish for her side and double their advantage.

A late Garvey goal wasn’t enough to give the Hillsborough side a route back into the game as Portadown held on to a 2-1 win – a result which sees them move three points clear at the top.
