Men’s Premier League Roundup

In the Men’s Premier League Cookstown continued their unbeaten record this season as they came out on top of a 12-goal-thriller against Bangor on Saturday.

Four first half goals from Callum Anderson, Mark Crooks, Jack Haycokc and Michael Kerr gave the hosts a comfortable lead at the break despite a Ryan Burgess drag flick.

Despite an improved second half performance from Bangor they were unable to get anything from the game.

Burgess added three more goals of his own alongside a strike from Dave McClune but further Cookstown strikes from Scott McCabe and Jack Haycock rounded off an astonishing 7-5 win for the league leaders.

The days only other game saw Instonians overtake South Antrim in the division as they beat the Lisburn side 3-1 at Shaw’s Bridge.

Three goals from Matthew McCord, Ross Kelly and David Arneill helped seal the win despite a consolation effort from South’s Ben Clarke.

The Belfast side now climb into second in the divison with three games in hand of Saturday’s opponents meanwhile South Antrim slip to third having now gone five league games without a win.
