Ulster Hockey Officiating Awards 2019 – 2020

Ulster Hockey is delighted to announce the winners of the 2019/20 Officiating Awards.

Charlotte Johnston – Young Umpire of the Year

Charlotte started umpiring in September 2018 after nominating herself for umpire training with Ulster Hockey.

This season Charlotte has been umpiring for her club (Portadown), school (Friends School Lisburn) and Ulster Hockey, as well as still playing the game.

She has umpired a large number of club and school junior tournaments throughout the season (both outdoor and indoor) and umpired at very high standard for someone of her age.

Charlotte is a great role model for any young hockey player.

Victoria McMordie – Club Umpire of the Year

Victoria has made a significant contribution through her commitment to officiating within her club, Ulster Elks over the past season.

When finding out she was pregnant and not being able to play anymore, Vicky started umpiring for her club’s 2nds, 3rds and 4th teams.

Even after giving birth to her first child last year and becoming a mum, she has still helped out massively this season umpiring games every weekend!
