FAQs

Is there a way into Underage Programmes that isn’t through TDP?

Yes. If a school or club teacher feels strongly that a player has been missed out and could definitely push to play for Ulster they should contact the Talent Coach. The player will then be invited either to a couple of sessions fitted to their age group, or a Talent Camp. This will allow assessment to take place.

Is there cost involved in Ulster Hockey’s Programmes?

Yes. At each stage of Primary School, Under 13 and U15 level there is a fee involved to participate. This fee covers pitch hire and coaching costs.

At U16 and U18 performance level where squads train regularly and travel to play in series/tournaments, Ulster Hockey ask for a contribution that goes towards pitch hire, physio cover, travel and accommodation, coaching costs, meals etc etc.

If you would like a more intricate breakdown of costings please contact Shirley.mccay@ulsterhockey.com

Do you get some kit?

At U15 TDP each participant gets a piece of Ulster Hockey clothing to keep, usually in the form of a hoody or jacket.

At both Under 16 and Under 18 the panels order and pay a fee for kit which includes full tracksuit, training top and training socks. At the end of the year players get to keep their playing kit which includes two playing tops and shorts.

At Talent Camps each participant can purchase an Ulster Hockey training top for a small fee.

Is is possible to play for either Ireland or Great Britain?
