Ulster Hockey is delighted to announce the Barclays U16 and Linwoods U18 girls squads for this weekend’s game versus Leinster, hosted by Banbridge Hockey Club.

In game 3 of the new format, it promises to be a fantastic day of action at Havelock Park. The U16 girls get underway at 12noon, with the U18 girls at 2.30pm.

U16 girls Head Coach Davy Menaul is excited to host Leinster on home turf: “Ulster v Leinster games are always great occasions, especially at home. The players have enjoyed a break over Christmas and are excited to get back into this season’s competitive interprovincials. Performances in our first 2 games have been good with our aim in this game to go out, have fun and hopefully improve our performance again.”

U18 girls Head Coach Suzanne Evans on the challenge ahead “After an excellent preparation period the girls are looking forward to their only home fixture of the Interpro series against Leinster on Sunday at Banbridge HC. With two strong performances to date this talented group of players are up for the challenge to stay in contention for the Interpro finals.”

Talent Coach Shirley McCay:  “I am excited for the girls to showcase their development commitment to the programme in front of a home crowd this Sunday. I’d like to thank Barclay’s and Linwoods for their continued support. We welcome Leinster to Banbridge and here’s to a fantastic advert for underage girls hockey in Ireland.”

Please note the coffee hut at Havelock Park will be open for hot drinks and snacks. A covid vaccine cert will be required for access to the bar area of the club along with track and trace details.

A huge congratulations to everyone selected, and good luck to all teams, coaches and officials.
