We have had notice of an update to the Protocols for returning to hockey from the Northern Ireland Executive which will have immediate effect for clubs in Northern Ireland only.

The Hockey Ireland Protocol will be updated in line with these changes next week but in the meantime we would like to provide you with the details:

1 – Training can take place with groups of up to 30 and contact training is allowed.

2 – Competitive sports can resume from today (10th July) with only those ’essential personnel’  involved in the sports event present i.e. players, officials, coaches, medical/physio, COVID Officers.  There is no specific limit as this may differ from sport to sport.  It is clear that there are no spectators and that personnel such as Committee members are not permitted to attend unless they have a role relevant to the sport event.

3.   Spectators are now allowed to attend events as long as social distancing can be adhered to by the spectators during and on entry/exit to the venue.
