Ulster Hockey are delighted to welcome our new President elect, Rosie Rea. Rosie has been elected into the role and will replace Terry Templeton who was a fantastic role model for Ulster Hockey during his tenure.

Rosie is coming into the role with a breadth of experience playing, managing and administering the game since the 70’s.

Beginning her hockey career at Belfast Royal Academy, where she was forced into goals after a fractured arm put a stop to her outfield career. Rosie has been a stalwart at Owls Hockey Club, representing them between 1972 and ’78, returning in 1985 she has fulfilled a vast range of roles including 1st XI captain, Manager, Coach, Selector and Umpire.

Not only has Rosie excelled during her time on the pitch, but she has also been instrumental to the development of the game in Ulster. Representing the Ulster Women’s Hockey Council between 1999 and 2002 and more recently sitting on the UH Board from 2014 until 2016.

Rosie stepped into the Vice President role in 2019 and is very much looking forward to pursuing her role as President.

“Last year I very honoured to be the Vice-President of UH progressing to President for 2020 -2021. I have been lucky to make many friends through hockey and I look forward to meeting many more during my tenure as Ulster President”
