Coaching

Coaches are vital to the development of the sport and without quality coaching we will not be able to develop effective player pathways from Grassroots to

Interprovincial and National Squads.  Ulster Hockey organise a range of courses leading to qualifications at different levels and hold workshops and seminars

throughout the year focusing specific coaching topics. These will help you develop your skills and knowledge as a coach on hockey specific and generic topics.

Umpires and Officials

Without Umpires, hockey simply wouldn’t work. Umpires are crucial figures on the hockey pitch and each year they officiate thousands of games at all levels of the sport throughout Ulster.

Over time some umpires and officials will develop their skills to a level that will see them invited to national tournaments and international events.

Officiating is a great way to develop a better understanding of hockey. Whether you’re a player, coach, parent or teacher, a better understanding of the rules will assist all aspects of your game.
