Bangor and South Antrim go head-to-head in the 2025 Anderson Cup Final this evening at Havelock Park.
Both sides are looking to win the competition for the first time, whilst Bangor have reached the last two for the first time since 1989.
On their route to the Final, the County Down side have claimed a number of scalps knocking out EYHL side Annadale in the first round before beating reigning champions Banbridge in the Semi-Final.
However, they come into this evening’s game on a poor run of form. With just one win in their last five Men’s Premier League games, they have slipped to seventh in the division with eighth place Kilkeel just narrowly behind and with two games in hand.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s 8-1 away defeat to Belfast Harlequins is the heaviest loss that the side have suffered this season.
In more positive news, the side are led by the divisions top goalscorer, with Ryan Burgess having scored 13 goals this campaign whilst youngster JJ Holley has six.
As for South Antrim, they have had to overcome a series of Premier League sides on their route to the final.
In the first round the Lisburn side squeezed past Belfast Harlequins, winning via a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Since then they have also beaten Queen’s University to reach this evenings game in Banbridge where they face a side they are yet to lose to this campaign.
To date the side have met twice this season and it is South Antrim who come out on top with a win (3-2 in September) and a draw (3-3 in January).
However, like Bangor, the Lisburn side have hit a blip in form. Having won six of their opening eight league games this campaign, they have lost ground in the title race after hitting a run of form which sees them without a win in five games.
This evening’s game is scheduled for a 7:45pm start with all spectators welcome.
