Lisnagarvey booked their place in the Kirk Cup knockout stages as they thrashed Kilkeel 9-0 at Comber Road on Saturday afternoon.
The reigning champions put in a dominant performance with star man Oliver Kidd putting in a sensational individual effort, netting six goals.
Kidd got his side off to a flying start, netting two quickfire goals in the first quarter to give the hosts a 2-0 lead going into the first break, but it was in the second period that Lisnagarvey showed their brilliance.
The in-form forward quickly completed his hat-trick after the restart before a free-flowing team move ended with Kidd firing in from the top of the circle for his fourth of the afternoon.
Not stopping there, Lisnagarvey continued their dominant performance, as Craig Getty netted his first of the season before Mackenzie Connor got in on the act, adding to the goal he scored in their group opener against Portadown last week.
The Lisnagarvey route continued with Daniel Nelson getting his first Kirk Cup goal of the season to make it 7-0 before turning provider as he juggled the ball into the circle before Kidd volleyed in to extend the lead to 8-0 at half-time.
With the damage done in the first half, Oliver Kidd rounded off his performance, netting his sixth of the afternoon in the third quarter to cap a 9-0 win for his side.
In Pool A, South Antrim sealed their place in the knockout stages as they beat Instonians 5-3 at Shaw’s Bridge.
David Gallagher opened the scoring from a penalty corner before doubling his and his side’s tally with a second drag flick, striking the crossbar on its way in.
Their lead was soon extended to 3-0 as Max Taylor scored for the ninth game running to all but seal the win for his side.
There was a response from Instonians as Ben Palmer scored from a penalty corner for the Belfast side, but their visitors weren’t to be phased.
Matthew Sullivan added a fourth goal for South as he lobbed goalkeeper Sam Holmes before Oliver Patterson converted from a well-worked penalty corner routine.
A second goal for Palmer and a strike from Ben Rose saw Mark Evans’ side reduce the deficit to just two goals, but the damage was already done as South Antrim ran out 5-3 winners.
The final game of the weekend saw Mossley end the group stage with a 4-2 win over fellow Premier League side Bangor.
Goals from Raymond Miller, Phillip Kane and Ross McIvor sealed the win for the side as they finished second behind Banbridge.
