The gap at the top of the Legacy Wealth Management Premier League remains just goal difference after both Belfast Harlequins and Ards picked up wins this weekend.
Matchday nine also saw Mossley and Lurgan pick up wins on the road, whilst Armagh vs Ballymoney fell victim to the weather.
The big game this weekend saw Ards win away to Lisnagarvey, with the sides coming into the weekend separated by just one point.
After a tense start to the game, Zara Malseed finally opened the scoring on the brink of half-time when she converted from a penalty corner to give Ards the lead.
Their advantage was then doubled when Alana Thornton’s pass found Alyssa Boyd, who fired in to make it 2-0 in the 49th minute, before Jess Moore set up a nervy final quarter as she scored in for Garvey the dying stages of the third.
The Ards two-goal lead was soon restored as Emma Reid found Malssed of her second of the afternoon just three minutes after the restart, but again Garvey struck back with Moore converting from the penalty spot to make it 3-2.
However, the three points were then sealed for the visitors when Pippa Best set up Maddie Leathem for her second of the season and her sides fourth of the afternoon.
Belfast Harlequins continued their winning streak with a sixth consecutive victory in the Legacy Wealth Management Premier League, defeating Larne 6-1.
Claire Whiteside opened the scoring after four minutes as her team worked the ball well down the right flank before she was left with a tap-in at the back post.
Katie Larmour increased the lead to 3-0 with two brilliant solo efforts, carrying the ball from the halfway line before slotting the ball into the bottom corner with her reverse stick.
Evie Lavery scored for the visitors, but her goal was soon disallowed as Rebekah Lee scored her first of the season for the Quins.
In the second half, Megan Getty deflected in from a penalty corner to make it 5-1, whilst Whiteside rounded off the scoring by lobbing the Larne goalkeeper to make it 6-1.
In Saturday’s late game, Mossley bounced back from last weekend’s defeat to Belfast Harlequins as they won 2-0 away to Omagh.
With both sides inseparable heading into the final quarter, it was Mossley who scored two late goals to snatch all three points on the road.
First, it was Lucy Campbell who scored her fifth goal of the season and ended a run of four games without a goal before Kate Spillane scored for the second week running to seal the 2-0 win.
As a result, the side climbed into the top half of the table, whilst Omagh remain at the foot of the division with just one point this season.
On Friday night, Lurgan climbed into the EYHL2 places as they beat Banbridge 4-1 at Havelock Park.
After a goalless first half, a quickfire double from Lauren Wright and Charlene Stewart saw Lurgan storm to a 2-0 lead midway through the third quarter.
Just a couple of minutes later, it was Banbridge who were back in the tie as Paula Atkinson netted from a penalty corner for the first time in three games to bring the score to 2-1.
However, Lurgan’s Lydia McNeill got her sixth goal of the season from a penalty corner of their own to restore their two-goal advantage before Chloe Gilard wrapped up the 4-1 win.
The final game of the weekend between Armagh and Ballymoney was postponed and will be played at a later date.
