LWM PREM: Weekend Preview

Matchday 13 in the Legacy Wealth Management Premier League kicks off this evening with two of the top three going head-to-head as Belfast Harlequins take on Lisnagarvey at Deramore Park.

The sides come into the weekend separated by just two points, with the hosts having a game in hand of tonight’s opponents.

Both sides come into the tie in fine form with Lisnagarvey having own their last two league outings against Armagh and Ballymoney by and aggregate score of 9-2 whilst Harlequins have lost just once in eight league games.

Meanwhile, when the sides last met it was Quins who came out on top with a narrow 2-1 win over the Hillsborough opponents with goals from Alyssa Jebb and Linzi Hamilton on matchday four.

Ards continue their charge at the top of the Legacy Wealth Management Premier League as they host Armagh at Londonderry Park on Saturday afternoon.

The table toppers have a nine-point lead at the top of the division and are just ten points away from being crowned champions.

Still unbeaten this season, Ards come into the game having won their last ten league games on the bounce, including a recent win over this weekend’s opponents just before Christmas.

Goals from Alana Doyle (2) and Susie Cotter sealed a comfortable 3-0 win for the side and condemned Armagh to a ninth game in a row without a win.

Should Niall McCool’s side end their search for three points, they could move to within one point of seventh-place Larne.

Elsewhere, Ballymoney are hoping to bounce back from their most recent league defeat to Lisnagarvey when they host Banbridge.

The home side’s last league outing saw a heavy 6-1 defeat at the hands of the league leaders, but they now face a side who they have only lost one of their last three against.

Last season Kathryn Bryan scored three times as her side picked up four points against Banbridge, before the side were beaten 6-3 in this season’s earlier meeting.

Meanwhile Banbridge have enjoyed a much improved season in the division, sitting sixth and with Stef Ardis netting a joint league high 11 goals.

At the Glade, Mossley host local rivals Larne as they look to make up ground in the race for EYHL2 qualification.

Davy Menaul’s side sit five points outside the top three, but with two games in hand in just their second season in the division.

Recent form has seen the side win their last three games with youngster Kate Spillane finding form, netting three goals, including both in a recent 2-0 win over Armagh.

Opponents Larne come into the weekend having recently progressed to the Denman Shield semi-finals with an aggregate victory over Ballymoney and unbeaten in their last two league outings.

One more win in the league would see the side reach 13 points, a tally which has been enough to guarantee automatic safety in each of the last two seasons.

The final game of the weekend sees Omagh continue their search for a first win of the season when they make the journey to Lurgan.

The leagues bottom side, Omagh sit two points behind Ballymoney in the relegation playoff place and five off automatic safety.

Hosts Lurgan come into the weekend looking to return to winning ways having lost their most recent league out to Ards, ending a run of three consecutive wins.

Should Andy Brown’s side get back on track, they could finish the day just one point off the EYHL2 places with a game in hand on those above them.
