Queen’s University continue their Men’s Premier League title charge as they host bottom of the league North Down on Saturday.
The two sides come into the weekend in contrasting form as the unbeaten students meet a side looking for their first win of the season.
Last week’s 6-1 win over Mossley saw Matthew Bell’s side extend their unbeaten run to 12 games whilst top scorer Ben Law got his second hat-trick of the season to bring his tally to nine this campaign.
Hoping to end their winless run, North Down will be hoping Josh Gilmore can re-find his scoring form. The Comber man started the season on fire, scoring in each of his first four games but has failed to find the net since.
Also looking for a return to winning ways, Belfast Harlequins travel to Bangor looking to end a run of three straight losses.
In recent weeks, Quins have slipped to eighth in the table, having suffered losses to Mossley, Kilkeel and Queen’s University.
Opponents Bangor have proved hard to beat this season, without defeat since matchday two, but with only one win this season.
The two sides come into the weekend level on points, with a win for either side only enough to see them finish the weekend in seventh.
Elsewhere, Kilkeel are looking to build on their first win of the season when they face South Antrim.
Last week, goals from David Rae, Mark Stevenson, Taylor McConnell and Mark Henning sealed a narrow 4-3 win over Belfast Harlequins and ended a run of 12 games without a win for the side.
They now take on a strong South Antrim side who impressed with a 4-2 win over Instonians last weekend.
In recent weeks, they have climbed to third in the league, having avoided defeat in each of their last three outings, including winning their last two.
Meanwhile, Max Taylor has continued his fine form in front of goal, bringing his season’s tally to six, having scored in each of his sides’ last four games.
The final game of the weekend sees Portadown travel to The Glade to face Mossley.
The visitors climbed to second in the division with an impressive 4-1 win at home to Instonians last night. Despite falling behind to an early Ben Palmer strike two strikes from Matty Winter and an 11th goal of the season from Ryan Bennett saw the side turn the game around.
Meanwhile, a first Premier League goal for youngster Harry Castles sealed the win for his side and continued their fine start to the season.
They now travel to face a Mossley side who are looking to bounce back from last weekend’s heavy defeat to Queen’s University, when they lost 6-1.
Currently fifth in the division, a return to winning ways could see the side finish the weekend as high as third in the table.
