On Monday evening , CI Ladies and CI Annadale launched the third year of their Hockey ID sessions with a bolster turnout at CI Sports and Leisure Centre.
Following success in previous years, the program is full subscribed, running over an eight week period for ages five and up and is designed for those who require additional support.
Hockey ID is a more accessible version of the sport with participants overcoming barriers of entry to the sport through an intellectual disability and is a service which is becoming more readily available throughout the province.
Clubs such as NICS, Pegasus and North Down are amongst those to have also offered the service recently, whilst this weekend sees players from across Ireland come together for a weekend of hockey at Lisnagarvey.
Having run their Hockey ID service for the past three years, CI Ladies have also held walking hockey in recent weeks with three sessions being held earlier this month.
The initiatives comes after another successful season for CI Ladies who launched their seventh eleven this campaign with five of their senior sides achieving promotion.
Most notably, their first XI were promoted to Senior 1 having won their relegation / promotion playoff against Priories at the beginning of May, sealing a shoot-out victory.
