Ulster Elks could book their spot in the Denman Shield knockout stages as they take on Mossley on Saturday afternoon.
The reigning champions got their competition off to a winning start when they beat Banbridge 3-1 on matchday one.
That day, goals from Rachel Houston, Leah McGuire and Gabi Scott saw the side come from behind to seal the win and get their title defence underway.
Now, a repeat result for the University would guarantee their status at the top of the group and seal their spot in the next round.
Mossley come into the tie having hit a run of form, winning their last three outings without conceding a goal.
Wins over Omagh, Larne and Armagh have come in quick succession and have also seen youngster Kate Spillane hit a run of form, scoring three goals in her last three appearances.
The side also boasts a strong defensive record, conceding just 13 goals in the league this season, the second best in the Premier League and only bettered by leaders Ards.
In the Legacy Wealth Management Premier League, Banbridge are looking to return to winning ways when they host Omagh at Havelock Park.
The home side come into the weekend sixth in the division but haven’t won in their last four league outings with the gap to the EYHL2 places having grown to 12 points.
The side are boosted by the goalscoring form of Stef Ardis who netted twice in their recent 2-2 draw with Belfast Harlequins and brought her season’s tally to ten – twice as many as Omagh have scored this season.
Their visitors come into the weekend searching for their first win of the season.
Sitting bottom of the division with just one point this campaign, Omagh are currently four points off the guaranteed safety positions.
However, the side can take confidence from last season’s meetings when they won home and away against Saturday’s opponents, with both Aimee Buchanan and Sophie Egerton netting in both games.
The final game of the weekend sees Armagh looking to end their winless run when they host Larne.
The hosts have gone seven league games without a win in the division and have slipped to eighth in the division.
However, their only league win of the campaign came against this weekend’s opponents on matchday two when a strike from Maggie Scott proved to be the difference between the sides.
Opponents Larne come into the tie having ended their seven game losing run last weekend when they beat relegation threatened Ballymoney 1-0.
Katie Allen’s strike proved to be the difference between the two sides as the Senior One champions moved six points clear of the relegation playoff place.
