LWM PREM: Weekend Preview

Despite there being just two games in the Legacy Wealth Management Premier League this weekend, there are implications at both ends of the table.

The action gets underway this evening as eighth-place Armagh host bottom of the division Omagh in a relegation six-pointer at Ardmore Recreational Centre.

Both teams come into the game in need of a win, with the hosts winless in 10 games, whilst their visitors are yet to win a game this season.

Coming into the weekend, Armagh occupy the final safety position in the division, whilst Omagh are five points behind them in the automatic relegation place.

When the sides met earlier in the season they proved an even match, with Omagh’s only point of the season coming in a 1-1 at Campsie Playing Fields.

On Saturday afternoon, Lurgan host Mossley with both sides still having EYHL2 aspirations.

Coming into the weekend, the sides are level on points, with Lurgan only ahead of their visitors by goal difference.

Fourth and fifth respectively, a win for either side would see them climb into third place, ahead of Belfast Harlequins and into the EYHL2 places.

Andy Brown’s Lurgan are unbeaten in their last three league games, winning two and having lost just once in their seven.

Meanwhile, under the stewardship of Davy Menaul, Mossley have won five of their last six games with Kate Spillane netting seven goals in that time.

Both sides could still catch league leaders Ards, meaning a draw would all but confirm the league leaders as champions.
