Ulster Hockey’s U16 and U18 squads will face a travelling Hockey Mentors side at Ulster University, Jordanstown and Belfast High School this mid-week.
Games will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings as well as on Thursday morning.
The fixtures also come following a series of games for our U16 sides against the UK Lions at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club and will be the final games for our U18 sides before they head to Loughborough University for the UK School Games in two weeks.
Speaking ahead of the ties, U18 Girls’ Coach Suzanne Evans spoke about the opportunities that they will provide for our young players.
“This three-match series against the Hockey Mentors from England is a fantastic opportunity for our new squad of 34 players to familiarise themselves with each other and is excellent preparation for the upcoming UK School Games.
Ultimately this is the groundwork for our Interprovincial competition starting in September and the coaching staff and players are excited about the next few months ahead.”
The first games will take place this evening with both our U16 sides getting underway at 6pm before our U18s are in action at eight o’clock.
