The Ulster U16 and U18 Girls’ sides both sealed wins over Leinster South in their opening Interpro fixtures on Sunday.
The results now mean between all four youth sides, the Ulster teams have all won their first games in this year’s competition.
Davy Menaul’s U16 side got their campaign underway with a 2-0 win and were followed by a 4-0 win for the U18s under the stewardship of Suzanne Evans.
Ulster U16s 2-0 Leinster South
It was the home side who got off to a quick start in Kilkenny as they won the games first penalty corner with just two minutes on the clock and gave Ulster a scare as they sent their effort narrowly wide of the post.
Having settled into the tie as the first quarter progressed, it was Ulster who took the lead on the brink of the first stoppage.
Sophie Tate’s effort from a penalty corner in the 17th minute found the bottom left corner and gave her side a one-goal advantage.
Following the first goal the side settled into the game and continued to push forward with Hollie Givan going close at the start of the second period before the Leinster goalkeeper made a great stick save from another penalty corner.
Going into the third quarter the score remained 1-0 to Ulster, but it was the hosts who started on top as goalkeeper Katie Dolan made a number of good saves to keep her teams lead.
Then, having gotten back on track, the Ulster side continued to look a threat once more as Alana Thornton went close on two occasions following brilliant individual runs and only to be denied at the last instance.
Finally the second goal came with Camryn Wilson finding the net from another penalty corner after 55 minutes.
The goal doubled the sides lead and sealed a 2-0 win to start the Interprovincial campaign.

With the U18s getting underway at 3pm, it was Katie Herron who was first to test the goalkeeper as he strike from the top of the circle was saved with eight minutes played.
Just moments later we took the lead with Anna McRoberts getting the opening goal. Having injected a penalty corner, the ball made its way back to McRoberts before she was left with a tap-in at the back post.
By the end of the first quarter, it could have been 2-0 as Erin Pim was the latest player to go close with her reverse from the edge of the area going just wide of the Leinster post.
With 23 minutes on the clock, Ulster finally doubled thier lead with Lara Wilson firing in from close range having latched on to a loose ball in the circle.
On the brink of half-time the Ulster side nearly made it three as Chrissy Hopkins saw her effort saved before Emily Adamson went agonizingly close from the rebound.
Then, with 50 minutes played Scarlett Taylor put the game beyond doubt as she extended the Ulster lead to 3-0.
Following a penalty corner, a period of back and forth in the Leinster penalty area saw the ball land for Taylor before she converted from close range.
The scoring was then rounded off by Lisnagarvey forward Chrissy Hopkins as she was played through 1vs1 with the goalkeeper by Evie Girvan before finding the net on the second attempt.
The goal sealed a 4-0 win and made it four wins from as many games in the Interpros this season.
