Banbridge booked their spot in the semi-finals of the Anderson Cup as they came from behind to beat local rivals Lisnagarvey.

The reigning champions came back from 2-1 down to win 3-2 at Havelock Park on Saturday afternoon.

Luke Witherow opened the scoring early in the first quarter with the score remaining 1-0 until the first stoppage in play.

The lead wouldn’t last for long as just five minutes into the second period Daniel Nelson drew the visitors level before Oliver Kidd gave them a 2-1 lead ten minutes later from a penalty corner.

This time it was the hosts who came from behind as another Witherow strike and a goal from Peter Brown gave them a 3-2 lead at Havelock Park.

Trailing, Garvey had one last chance on the final whistle as they won a penalty corner, but having slipped the ball left, Banbridge were able to clear the danger and progress to the semi-finals.

In Lisburn, South Antrim booked their semi-final place with a penalty run-in victory over Belfast Harlequins.

After a quiet first half the game sprung into life in the third quarter as the home side thought they had taken the lead, only for a goal to be ruled out after a foot on the line from their own player.

Just moments later it was Quins who took the lead as Stephen McGrath won the ball back in midfield before sending Cameron Ruttle on the counter.

The forward picked out teammate Matthew Gray on the edge of the circle and he fired in to give his side the lead.

However, with just eight minutes remaining on the clock, Jordan Robinson drew South level with a drag flick into the bottom right corner.

With the scores level the sides went to run-ins with home goalkeeper Peter Bingham proving to be the match-winner for his side.

Queen’s University also booked their semi-final place as they eased past Portadown, winning 3-0 at Edenvilla.

After causing an upset in the first round, the home side were unable to continue their momentum as they exit at the quarter-final stage.

Three goals from Harry Scott (2) and Matthew Vincent sealed the  win for the students as they progress to face South Antrim in the next round.

The final tie of the game saw EYHL side Annadale narrowly edge past Premiership side Kilkeel on penalty run-ins.

Following a 1-1 draw in normal time, the underdogs were unable to cause an upset as they were beaten
