In the Men’s Premier League champions Cookstown followed up last weeks 6-0 victory against Belfast Harlequins with a 7-0 win over Bangor.
Last season’s top scorer Jack Haycock opened the scoring with his first of the campaign, converting a drag flick in the first quarter.
The mid-Ulster side doubled their lead when Paul Watt found Scott McCabe and he scored from close range before two Mark Cuddy strikes either side of half time extended the lead to 4-0.
Both Haycock and McCabe doubled their own tallies in the second half to bring the scoring to six, before Michael Kerr rounded off the scoring as he finished off a swift counter-attack.
Elsewhere Belfast Harlequins got back to winning ways with a 3-2 home win over North Down.
It took just five minutes to open the scoring as Cameron Ruttle fired in from a penalty corner to net his first goal of the season.
However, immediately from the restart the visitors were level as Gareth McKeown was left unmarked in the circle and converted with help from the crossbar.
The early action continued as just two minutes later North Down took the lead from a Philip Wilson strike before Stephen Gammon drew the hosts level at the end of the first quarter following good work from Robin Quigley.
The comeback was then complete when Ruttle found Matthew Gray in the circle and the forward squeezed his effort in at the near post to make it 3-2, with the home side holding out for all three points.
At Shawsbridge, Instonians dropped points for the first time this season as they were held to a 2-2 draw with Portadown.
The Belfast club struck twice with goals from James Palmer and Matthew McCord.
However, having given away three penalty strokes, they were ultimately made to settle for a point as Ryan Bennett struck twice from the spot.
The draw leaves them top of the table by a point, but with reigning champions Cookstown having played a game less.
South Antrim continued their winning start to the season as they beat Queen’s University 3-0 at The Dub.
Tim Curragh opened the scoring from a penalty corner as he picked his spot with a drag flick before Callum Patterson doubled their advantage having intercepted a loose pass and finding the bottom corner with a reverse effort.
The result was put beyond doubt when South were awarded a penalty stroke with just three minutes remaining.
Peter Milligan stepped up and converted from the spot, rounding off a fine display from his side which sees them on six points from their opening two games.
The final game of the day saw Kilkeel win 4-3 away to P.S.N.I with four goals from John Finlay, David Finlay, Gareth Russell and Luke Russell.
The victory sees the visitors get their first three points of the season as they move into fifth place whilst their hosts find themselves in seventh.
