Men’s Premier League Preview

In the Men’s Premier League, Bangor host North Down in the penultimate game before the Anderson Cup Final.

The two sides last met in October when it was North Down who came out on top with a 5-2 win and goals from Harry Templeton (2), Gareth McKeown, Josh Gilmore and Philip Wilson.

However, they will now be without top scorer McKeown who misses the game through injury and has scored eight goals for the side this season.

Instead, they will have to stop the divisions top goalscorer Ryan Burgess who has scored 13 goals this campaign as his side have surged up the table since the reverse fixture.

At Newforge, PSNI host Belfast Harlequins with the side hoping to end a run of nine games without a win in the division.

The home side come into the tie having lost their last four games in league action, most last picking up a point in a 0-0 draw with South Antrim in January.

However, the side come into the tie with reason for optimism, having sealed a late draw away to Saturday’s opponents in the reverse fixture.

Meanwhile, Belfast Harlequins come into the game sixth in the division but with at least one game in hand of each of the teams above them.

Paddy Jack’s side are unbeaten in their last three outings, picking up five points and most recently beating North Down 4-3 with goals from Aaron Murphy, Cameron Ruttle, Peter Bailey and Matthew Gray.
