Banbridge booked their spot in the Kirk Cup knockout stages as they beat Ulster Premier League side Mossley 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The win confirms their place at the top of Pool B, having already beaten Bangor in their opening group game.
Callum Robson, Jake Rowe, Owen McElhenney and Edward Rowe all got on the scoresheet for the EYHL side as they recorded a routine win on matchday two.
All four players scored for the second week running in the competition, with McElhenney leading the Kirk Cup goalscoring charts with three goals in the group stage.
The win sees Scott McCandless’ side top Pool B with maximum points, becoming the first side to seal their spot in the knockout rounds.
In Comber, Instonians left it late as they beat North Down 4-1.
The visitors took the lead when Ross Kelly scored his second goal of the campaign from a well-worked penalty corner routine.
A third-quarter strike from North Down top scorer Josh Gilmore saw him net his ninth goal of the campaign to level for his side.
However, in the final quarter, three goals from Ben Rose, Stephen Kelso and Jacob McIlhatton saw Mark Evans’ side seal a comfortable away win.
In Pool C, Queen’s University have one foot in the knockout stages as they beat Belfast Harlequins 8-2 at Deramore Park.
With the sides goalless at the end of the first quarter, the Premier League leaders soon showed their quality and put in a rampant performance in front of goal.
A Ben Law hat-trick proved to be the pick of the action, with Harris Massey (2), Jack Mulholland, Sam McMillan and Phil Campbell all getting on the scoresheet for the side.
There were two consolation efforts from their hosts, with Michael Patterson and Cameron Ruttle both getting on the scoresheet.
Following Saturday’s result, Queen’s will now have to wait for the result between Cookstown and Belfast Harlequins to see if they top the group, with anything but a seven-goal Cookstown winning margin enough for the students to advance.
The final game of the weekend saw Lisnagarvey get their competition off to a winning start as they beat Portadown 4-1.
After a goalless first quarter, the EYHL champions took the lead midway through the second period with youngster Daniel Murray converting.
The sole goal separated the sides until the third quarter Macauley Connor doubled their lead.
Two quickfire goals from Oliver Kidd and Ryan Getty then put the result beyond doubt as the Garvey lead grew to 4-0 before Josh Rowe got a late consolation effort for the hosts.
