LWM Prem: Weekend Preview

Ards can move to within one point of the Legacy Wealth Management Premier League title when they take on Banbridge at Havelock Park this evening.

The current league leaders are eight points clear at the top of the division, with the side having four games left to play this campaign.

This evening’s clash sees the league’s top two scorers go head-to-head with Zara Malseed (Ards) and Stef Ardis (Banbridge) having netted a combined 29 goals this term.

Ards come into the tie having been out of league action for three weeks due to their EYHL2 commitments, with their last league outing seeing them beat Ballymoney 4-1 with goals from Lucy Andrews, Zara Malseed, Susie Cotter and Ali Carson.

Meanwhile, Banbridge come into the tie having lost their last outing to Mossley last weekend, having previously lost just one of their last five games.

At Deramore Park, Belfast Harlequins host Mossley with both teams still in EYHL2 contention.

With just one win in their last five league games, the home side have dropped down the division in recent weeks and come into the weekend a point outside of the qualification places.

Opponents Mossley have hit fine form in recent weeks having won six of their last eight in the division and are only outside the top three by goal difference,

With third place Lurgan not in action this weekend, a win for either side would see them sneak into the top three.

The final game of the weekend sees the bottom two go head-to-head in a relegation six-pointer.

Both Omagh and Ballymoney sit level on four points this campaign and a win for either would see them climb out of relegation threat and above eighth place Armagh.

Omagh come into the game fresh off the back of their first win of the season when four Aimee Buchanan strikes helped them beat Armagh 5-3.

Meanwhile, Ballymoney recently slipped to the foot of the table and they will be hoping to complete the league double of their hosts, having beaten them 3-2 earlier in the season with goals from Anna Wright and Katie Burns.
