BDO NI Youth Indoor Championships 2018 – 19
Off the back of last season’s youth indoor success, Ulster Hockey in partnership with our new sponsors BDO NI are delighted to announce the 2018 – 19 youth indoor dates.
This season will see more dates on offer with more teams being able to enter a team for two age groups, U15 and U18.
Jonathan McMeekin, Workforce Development Officer for Ulster Hockey quoted, ‘We are trying to grow the indoor game year on year and get young boys and girls thinking more about it. The skills that come with this version of the game is huge to helping our players overall ability. Plus the fast paced nature allows for spectators to enjoy.’
Last season was a great success and off the back of it we have had an increase in the amount of clubs interested in entering a team. With the continued support of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough council all dates will be hosted at the Antrim Forum Leisure Centre once again.
U15 & U18 Youth Indoor dates and age groups:
16th of December 2018
6th of January 2019
13th of January 2019
The cost to enter will be 60 pounds per team. This will guarantee all teams two dates in which they will play indoor hockey. So loads of hockey to look forward to those teams that have entered.
Clubs are permitted to enter one team per age and gender group.
Umpires from the Ulster Umpires Association and Irish Umpires Association will be mentoring and umpiring with Umpires from the Ulster Hockey Young Umpires Programme.
Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis so get signed up to avoid disappointment.
