Linwoods Youth Blitzes
Sunday saw the continuation of our Super 6 and Extreme 8 youth hockey series. With boys and girls playing we saw upwards of 2,500 kids playing hockey along with hundreds spectators cheering them on.
Dromore, Priorians, Ulster Elks, Castle, Belfast Harlequins and Bangor hosted clubs from across Ulster on the girl’s side. Antrim, CI and Portadown hosted on the boy’s side. A special thank you have to go to those clubs that hosted. Upwards of 2,500 kids came out to play hockey and without the tireless effort of our blitz hosts this would not have happened.
Sunday also saw the outing of our young umpires. As they start their umpiring journey we ask all clubs, coaches, parents and spectators to please observe our RESPECT campaign and allow our umpires to make mistakes just as they would playing the game. With the Ulster Umpires Association out helping with mentoring our young umpires we wish them every success moving forward on their umpiring journey. To find out more about this programme click here
