| Ulster Hockey is delighted to announce a new partnership with Funkey Sports. Funkey is a sports coaching company which offers a range of exciting multi-skills programmes to primary school aged children throughout County Antrim – and our philosophy is ‘FUN IS KEY!’
Funkey aims to encourage children of all abilities to try new sports and games in an inclusive and engaging environment, where they can enhance their physical, social and mental skills, whilst developing a love for physical activity.
Our biggest and most popular programme is Funkey Hockey. Through this programme children learn the basics of the game whilst improving important fundamental movement skills, through fun games and activities – all the building blocks required to build a solid foundation for growth at grassroots level.
Funkey will bring an expertise to Ulster Hockey in engaging with a younger age demographic and the partnership will include contribution to coaching resources aimed at younger participants and delivering coach education to increase Ulster Hockey’s capacity to deliver our sport to a wider audience.
