Banbridge and Lisnagarvey Hockey Clubs go head-to-head once more as they contest the Anderson Cup Final at Havelock Park.
The two sides meet for a fourth cup final this season with the Hillsborough outfit so far having the bragging rights with two wins from the previous three.
However, it was Saturday’s hosts Banbridge who came out on top in in the EYHL as they won the divison as well as both meetings in the competition.
The two sides last met just over a week ago in the Kirk Cup Final when Erroll Lutton’s side were crowned champions with a 2-0 victory at Comber Road.
Goals from Andrew Williamson and Oliver Kidd sealed the victory and saw the side win the competition for a third time in a row – the first team to do so since Garvey themselves won five in a row back in the late 1990’s.
The game also marks the end of the another successful season for both sides with Scott McCandless’ Banbridge having won the Champions Trophy alongisde the EYHL.
Meanwhile Garvey will be hoping to add the Anderson Cup to their Kirk Cup, Irish Senior Cup and EuroHockey Club Trophy I successes in recent weeks.
The game is scheduled for a 2:30pm start at Havelock Park anyone attending should be aware of a £8 gate fee for adults and £5 for children.
Ulster Hockey are also delighted to be donating 50% of the gate receipts to Banbridge Hockey Club’s chosen charity Air Ambulance NI.
