THE OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN CLUB 1896 is now open.
Club 1896, inspired by the year organised hockey began in Ulster, offers its members a series of high-quality networking events, with the aim of creating new connections and business growth through a shared passion for sport.
Members will be given access to four exclusive events throughout the year as well as one large-scale event, all of which will feature a range of special guests and speakers from both the sporting and business worlds.
Speaking about the background to the initiative, Chief Executive of Ulster Hockey Marc Scott said: “Club 1896 is about bringing together the business community through a shared passion for sport to create valuable connections, meaningful relationships and ultimately encouraging economic growth.
“As well as fostering positive connections between our members, our events will highlight talent from the worlds of sport and business through Q&As, panel discussions and keynote addresses.”
Club 1896 was successfully launched in September 2023 with a maiden event in Titanic, Belfast featuring headline guest Lord Ian Botham and special guest speakers Jimmy Kirkwood, Dr. Stephen Martin, Dr. Shirley McCay MBE, OLY and Jan Cunningham
Our first business breakfast will take place from 8.30-10.30 at Legacy Wealth Management, Belfast on 23rd February, hosted by Denise Watson Management and featuring former Ireland international hockey player Matthew Bell. Matthew has a story to tell of resilience and dedication and this is an event not to be missed.
