Lisnagarvey’s upturn in form continued as they drew 2-2 with Banbridge in the Legacy Ulster Women’s Premier League.

Despite not getting all three points, the draw makes it just one defeat in the sides last seven fixtures.

After a tight first period, the hosts took the lead just three minutes into the second quarter from a short corner.

With the ball injected to the top of the circle a crash ball to the back post was deflected into the roof of the net by Beth McFerran.

The Lisnagarvey pressure continued as Beth Ravey went close, after beating two defenders she fired off a reverse from the top of the circle which went just over the crossbar.

Having failed to make the pressure count, the visitors then got back in the game at the beginning of the third quarter.

With Garvey having thrown players forward, Banbridge caught them out on a blistering counter attack before Rachel Cairns was picked out in the circle and fired in to make it 1-1.

The visitors then took the lead just moments later as youngster Alyssa Somerville was quickest to react to a loose ball in the circle following a penalty corner.

However, like their hosts, Banbridge couldn’t see out the game with their lead as Beth Ravey got a late equaliser for Lisnagarvey to share the spoils.

Elsewhere Omagh ended a 10 game losing streak as they beat fellow strugglers Armagh 3-1.

Goals from Katherine McDowell, Dani Shortt and Honour Davison sealed the victory which now brings them level on points with eighth place Banbridge.

Meanwhile Armagh stay at the foot of the table and four points adrift from safety with just four games remaining this campaign.

There was also one game in the division on Frday night as a youthful Portadown side hosted Lurgan at Edenvilla.

Leah Galbraith gave the Ports an early lead when her drag flick took a deflection off a defender’s stick to beat the goalkeeper before Katie Herron doubled the advantage.

A determined Lurgan fought their way back into the game with Lydia McNeill’s goal swinging the momentum of the tie in the third quarter.

Jo-Anne Reid then levelled the scoring with her second of the season before Sarah McClure gave Lurgan the lead for the first time in the game late on.

The more experienced of the sides, Lurgan were able to see out the victory which now moves them to fourth in the table.
