Lisnagarvey top the Men’s Indoor Championship table by goal difference having picked up seven points from their opening three games yesterday morning.
The Comber Road side got off to the perfect start as they beat local rivals Banbridge 8-1 in the first game of the competition.
It took just two minutes for the deadlock be broken as Andrew Williamson netted for his side from open play before Oliver Kidd netted twice from penalty corners in as many minutes to extend the lead to 3-0.
Both Williamson and John Cunningham netted in the closing stages to give their side a healthy 5-0 lead at the midway stage of the fixture.
In the second half, it was Banbridge who netted first. Tommy Dobson got his sides first goal of the competition with 16 minutes gone.
However, the goal proved to be just a consolation strike as Daniel Nelson and Ryan Getty both got on the scoresheet whilst Williamson completed his hat-trick to seal an 8-1 opening win.
In game two Cookstown also got off to a winning start as they beat Belfast Harlequins 5-1.
Scott McCabe got his side off to a flying start, netting twice in the opening four minutes of the tie to give his side an early two goal lead.
Meanwhile, Michael Kerr added a third for his side from a penalty corner to send them into the half-time break three goals up.
After the restart Harlequins forward Matthew Gray got his first goal of the competition as he fired past Josh McCabe, giving his side a lifeline in the second half.
However, it wasn’t to be for the Belfast side, like his namesake, Scott McCabe got his first of the afternoon before Danny Kerr rounded off the win with a last-minute penalty corner.
Games three and four saw Lisnagarvey continue their perfect start as they beat Harlequins 6-1 with Jack Emery netting the only Quins effort before Cookstown narrowly edged past Banbridge with a 3-2 win courtesy of a last-minute Luke Haycock penalty corner.
In their final fixture of the weekend, Cookstown were twice pegged back by Lisnagarvey as the side played out a 2-2 draw.
Goals from Scott McCabe and Michael Kerr had twice given the side the lead but goals from Oliver Kidd and John Cunningham helped seal a point for their side with Cunningham netting just three minutes from the end of play.
The result leaves both sides on seven points from their three games, but it is Garvey who head the table by having a superior goal difference.
The final game of the day saw the groups bottom two sides go head-to-head as Banbridge beat Belfast Harlequins 7-1.
It took Matthew McKee just two minutes to open the scoring for his side before captain Johnny McKee netted a first half hat-trick to give their side a 4-0 advantage at the halfway stage.
A Jake Rowe penalty corner extended the Banbridge lead to 5-0 before Harlequins struck back through Stephen Gammon from a well worked set-play of their own.
However, there was still time for two more Ban goals as Matthew McKee got his second of the afternoon before Max Taylor sealed an impressive 7-1 win for his side.
