Kilkeel made it back-t0-back wins for the first time this season as they won 4-2 away to Queen’s University on Saturday afternoon.
Following a difficult start to the season, last season’s runners-up have now hit a run of form following their previous win against North Down last week.
Goals from Neil Stevenson (2), Jordan McCartan and Taylor McConnell sealed the win despite strikes from Ethan Clotworthy and Ben Law for the students.
The win now sees Kilkeel climb to sixth spot in the table, just one point behind third-placed Instonians, whilst Queen’s Univeristy drop to seventh, two points behind Saturday’s opponents.
Elsewhere, Cookstown continued their unbeaten start to the season as they comfortably beat North Down 4-1 in Comber.
Goals from youngsters Isaac Kelso and Ethan Redford as well as a drag flick from Jack Haycock and a strike from Paul Thompson were enough to secure a fourth straight win for the reigning champions.
Gareth McKeown managed to get on the scoresheet for the visitors but it wasn’t enough to impact the result as North Down suffered a sixth defeat in their seven games this campaign.
Following the win, Cookstown stay top of the division with a four-point margin whilst North Down stay bottom with just three points.
Elsewhere South Antrim maintained their impressive start to the campaign as they won 3-1 away to Belfast Harlequins.
The visitors took an early lead as Oli Patterson’s slapped strike from the top of the circle found the bottom corner to break the deadlock.
They later doubled their lead when David Gallagher got his fourth goal of the season with a drag flick in the second quarter before a Patterson made it 3-0 in the third quarter.
Matthew Gray converted from a well-worked penalty corner to get a consolation goal for the hosts, but it had no impact on the end result as it finished 3-1.
The final game of the weekend saw Bangor win for a second week running as they thrashed Portadown 4-0.
A hat-trick from Ryan Burgess got set the side well on their way to all three points and a comfortable win for his side.
Saturday’s result comes following their first win of the season last weekend against Queen’s University and sees them climb out of the bottom two and into eighth.
Meanwhile, Portadown suffered their third defeat of the campaign following previous losses against Cookstown and Queen’s University with the result seeing them finish the weekend in fourth place.
