In the Men’s Premier League, Cookstown are out to continue their unbeaten start to the season as they travel to bottom of the league North Down.

The reigning champions have won five of their opening six league games and come into this weekend off the back of beating Portadown 4-1 with goals from Michael Kerr, Daniel Kerr, Scott McCabe and Greg Allen.

They now face North Down who recently slipped to the foot of the table with a heavy defeat against Kilkeel.

One positive for the Comber side has been the recent form of forward Frazer McCain who has scored in both of his sides last two outings and may need to extend that run if they are to get anything against Cookstown.

Elsewhere in the division, Belfast Harlequins could climb as high as second should they overcome South Antrim at Deramore Park.

The two sides last met in September when it was the Lisburn side who came out on top in the Anderson Cup, winning via run-ins after a 1-1 draw in normal time.

Quins come into the tie unbeaten in their last three outings with forward Cameron Ruttle having scored in each of the games as his side picked up seven points.

However, they now face a difficult task with South Antrim having won four of their five games so far, but most recently losing 2-1 to Portadown despite a goal from David Gallagher.

At the Dub Queen’s University are hoping to bounce back from consecutive defeats as they host a resurgent Kilkeel.

The students have lost recent clashes against Belfast Harlequins and Bangor and have slipped into the bottom half of the table.

Opponents Kilkeel come into the game having gotten their second win of the season, thrashing North Down 5-1.

Goals from David Finlay (2), Taylor McConnell, Mark Henning and Neil Stevenson sealed the win and ended a run of three defeats in a row.

The final game of the weekend sees Bangor host Portadown off the back of their first win of the campaign last weekend.

A fourth goal of the season from youngster JJ Holley and a strike from Dave McClune sealed a shock win over Queen’s University and moved them off the bottom of the table.

They not take on Portadown who last week, lost for the first time in four games when they were comfortably beaten 4-1 by leaders Cookstown.

Amongst their ranks the visitors have the divisions joint top goalscorer Ryan Bennett who has netted six times this campaign and should he get a seventh, his side could finish the weekend in second spot.
