Queen’s University returned to winning ways in the Men’s Premier League with a 3-2 win over Portadown on Saturday.
The win sees the side bounce back from last month’s 8-3 defeat to Instonians and helps them climb to fifth in the table.
Three goals from Philip Campbell (2) and Adam Reddick helped seal the victory and sees them overtake Portadown in the division.
With Portadown slumping to sixth in the table, the Edenvilla side have now lost three of their last four in the division.
Elsewhere, Bangor were held to a 3-3 draw at home to title-chasing South Antrim despite goals from Harris Massey (2) and Simon Cox.
A first quarter penalty corner from Tim Curragh as well as strikes from Ryan West and Chris Henry helped seal a draw for the visitors against their Anderson Cup final opponents.
The draw continues Bangor’s resurgence this season as they continue their climb up the table and move into fourth place whilst South Antrim missed the chance to close the gap to league leaders Cookstown.
The final game of the weekend saw North Down move off the foot of the table as they beat P.S.N.I 6-4 at Comber Leisure Centre.
Their second league win of the season now moves them into ninth in the division, one point ahead of Saturday’s opponents.
