Omagh Ladies have won the Senior Cup after a thrilling final against Mossley, eventually winning after a penalty shoot-out.

With the sides drawing 2-2 in regular time, it was the County Tyrone side who held their nerve to win the competition for the second time in their history.

It was Omagh who came out of the blocks quickest, taking the lead five minutes into the first quarter through Emma Fulton who was at the back post from a short corner and managed to deflect the ball goal bound.

Before long it was 2-0 as Emma Buchanan doubled her sides lead before the first period came to a close.

Mossley were given a lifeline when they were awarded a penalty stroke for a foot on the line, but their luck seemed to be out when their effort was saved by the goalkeeper.

However, despite being two goals down to a side who have already won their League, their heads didn’t drop, and they were soon back in the tie.

Captain Anna Glassey made it 2-1 with her strike too much for the Omagh goalkeeper to deal with.

As Omagh began to lose grasp of their lead they were awarded three green cards for Amy McCollum, Katie McDowell and Sophie Smyth.

Mossley began to heap the pressure on their opponents and were awarded a penalty corner with just two minutes to go.

Up stepped Lucy Campbell who proved to be her sides hero as she scored from the set-piece to level the scoring and take the tie to a penalty shoot-out.

After a hard fought game it was Omagh who came out on top in the shoot-out and crowned Champions having last won the competition in 2017.

Ulster Hockey President George Wilson was on hand to present the trophy to Omagh Captain Laura White.
