This weekend, five Ulster squads will take part in a series of matches against Scotland at UUJ and in Glasgow with the full panel squads having now been selected.
The Ulster U18 boys and Girls squads will host Scottish sides at UUJ, whilst the U16 boys and girls will travel alongside an U23 women’s side to play at Glasgow Green.
Ahead of this weekend’s matches, Ulster Hockey Talent & Pathways Manager Shirley McCay said it will be a special occasion to see so many players representing the province.
“It is pretty special that this weekend, over 100 boys and girls will wear an Ulster shirt for their respective series’ v Scotland. Some for the first time and maybe some for the last, but nevertheless a proud moment for them all.
We welcome Scotland U18 girls and boys to UUJ, whilst we travel with 54 players at U16 and U23 level to Glasgow Green. It will undoubtedly be a tough test for all the teams, with our 16s and 18s only really starting their provincial season against strong opposition, and our U23s varying in experience.
None of this would be possible without the continued hard work and dedication of all our amazing coaching staff, who have worked tirelessly to make this weekend happen.
