The Ulster U18 Boys were beaten 5-1 in the second of their three games against Scotland this weekend.
Having trailed 5-0, a late Josh Williams penalty corner got a late consolation effort for young Ulster side.
After just two minutes played the visitors found themselves ahead. Having won the first penalty corner of the tie, a Scotland forward brilliantly deflected in from close range to give his side the early advantage.
Midway through the period the visitors made it 2-0 after a fantastic solo run led to a Scottish midfielder picking out a teammate in the circle and he was left with a routine finish to extend their lead.
Almost immediately from the restart the Scots where again on the offence winning a penalty corner and eventually adding their third goal of the afternoon.
An initial strike was well saved by the Ulster goalkeeper, but it was a Scotland forward who reacted quickest to the rebound to convert a third goal for his side.
At the start of a second period it was Ulster who were on the front foot. Winning two penalty corners in quick succession, Adam Price’s straight strike from the top of the circle went closest, forcing a save from the Scotland shot-stopper.
Then, with five minutes remaining in the quarter, Ulster had the best chance of the game so far when they were awarded a penalty stroke but Josh Williams saw his effort saved as it remained 3-0 at half-time.
As play resumed it was the visitors who quickly added their fourth goal.
Having worked it well down the right flank, a Scotland forward cut along the byline before playing the ball across the face of goal, picking out a teammate who volleyed in from close range.
The visitors continued to push forward and midway through the quarter they got their fifth goal in a similar fashion, working the ball down the right before a forward received the ball at the penalty spot, firing his effort into the roof of the net.
In the final quarter, Ulster goalkeeper Rory Cunningham was called into early action making a handful of close range saves to keep Scotland at bay.
Instead, it was Ulster who got the final goal of the game with Josh Williams converting his drag flick from a penalty corner to get a late consolation effort for his side.
