Ards Ladies are looking to return to winning ways when they take on University of Galway in the EYHL2 on Saturday afternoon.

A goal from Ali Scott saw the side come back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Muckross, a result which leaves them third in the group and level on points with Lurgan.

Meanwhile, their hopes of winning the Legacy Ulster Women’s Premier League came to an end on Wednesday, meaning their sole attention turns to this competition.

On Saturday, they face a University of Galway side who have lost two of their opening three games and avoided defeat for the first time in the competition in their draw with Lurgan previously.

A win for Ards could see them move to second in the group with the chance to then go top the following weekend when they will face current leaders UCC in Cork.

The other game in Pool B sees Lurgan Ladies looking to continue their good start in the EYHL2 when they travel to Cork to face UCC.

Harry McNeill’s side come into the game second in the group and on course to progress to the next round.

Ahead of this game, the Co Armagh side were held to a goalless draw with bottom-of-the-group University of Galway, but now they are preparing to take on a UCC side with a perfect record in the competition.

Belfast Harlequins are also in EYHL2 action when they host Avoca at Deramore.

The Ulster side have been in fine form in the competition with two wins from their three games.

However, they come into Saturday’s game off the back of a defeat in midweek to Queen’s University when a goal from Amy Cummings-Bell wasn’t enough to earn an away result.

Today’s opponents Avoca also lost their last outing when they travelled to Cork Harlequins last weekend and fell to a 3-0 defeat.

In the Legacy Ulster Women’s Premier League, newly crowned champions Queen’s University take on Ballymoney at The Dub.

The Students officially claimed their title with two games to spare following their 2-1 win against Belfast Harlequins in midweek.

Ahead of Saturday afternoon’s trophy presentation, the side will take on seventh-placed Ballymoney eyeing eight League wins in a row.

The sides met just a week earlier in the Irish Senior Cup when QUB won 5-0, with goals from Zoe Wilson, Jodie Simmons, Megan Cochrane, Eva Gaston and top scorer Alyssa Jebb.
