Ulster Hockey hosted our Year 8 Hockey Festival at Playball yesterday with schools travelling from across Ulster to take part in the competition.
Organised by Ulster Hockey Development Coordinator Harry Templeton the event was focused on participation and getting young players enjoying hockey rather than winning.
Running from 11am-2pm the tournament saw boys’ and girls’ matches played simultaneously across two pitches with a great turnout with 23 schools taking part in the event.
With plenty of great hockey on show, there was also great travelling support for the participating teams.
Although there were no overall winners of the competition, there were individual awards for those players who particularly stood such as Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Goal of the Tournament and Best Team Player. (See list below)
Thank you to all those teams who entered as well as to all those who came to show their support.
